The IELTS Reading section is made up of three different tasks. These are different for the General Training and Academic exams, so make sure you are using the right study material for the exam you are taking. Academic

📔 TASK 1

Participants will answer questions about a factual and less complex piece of text.

📔 TASK 2

Participants will answer questions about a slightly more complex and structured piece of text.

📔 TASK 3

Participants will answer questions about a complex and abstract piece of text. 

General Training

📔 TASK 1

Participants will answer questions about an everyday topic from a straightforward piece of text.

📔 TASK 2

Participants will answer questions about a workplace-related piece of text. 

📔 TASK 3

Participants will answer questions about a long piece of text on a general topic.
